Bitcoin’s scalability is a feature, not a flaw.

One of the criticisms of bitcoin is that it doesn’t scale, that it’s slow and outdated. That newer cryptos are faster, they say, more advanced and more scalable, so therefore bitcoin must be obsolete. But the reality is that bitcoin is far from obsolete.

Bitcoin’s approach is not a flaw, but a deliberate design choice that prioritizes Security and Decentralization over Scalability. The blockchain Trilemma states that you can only optimize for two out of three key properties. And Bitcoin chooses to focus on Security and Decentralization, which makes it resilient to attacks and manipulation. This means it doesn’t have the fastest speed on chain, but this trade off is necessary to maintain it’s trustless and censorship resistant nature.

So while other cyptos may boast faster speeds, they compromise on the important stuff – security and decentralization. And that, in the long run, makes them shitcoins. Manipulated, created out of nothing and controlled. Exactly like fiat currency.
